Overdue Thank You's

Alright, I know I continually tell you I'm going to get something completed in order to give you a decent post but this time I really mean it! Tonight and tomorrow are the first hours in about 2 weeks that I haven't had anything planned so I vow to sit in front of my TiVo and knit! No exceptions....except the weather here is gorgeous so I may have to dig out the hammock and knit outside tomorrow! Hope you're all having a great weekend!
Thank you all for loving my new banner! If you're reading this with Bloglines or Google Reader or some other way get over here and take a look! Many many many thanks to my friend Splatgirl for her creativity and generosity! xoxo
Also, thanks to my friend over at A Whole New Year for giving me a shout out. Mwah!
Check out her new look, it's awesome!

Limbo

I've been so busy this past weekend with a surprise visit from my brother to helping move my parents and then back to work. C.R.A.Z.Y. I promise a proper knitting post sometime by the end of this next weekend. Meanwhile, check out this crazy cool polka dot bike that I would have to have if I lived along the beach. It doesn't seem practical otherwise but it's awful neato.

Needle Hoarding

Last weekend the Textile Center here in Minneapolis had their yearly garage sale so after dropping off a huge bag of donations the night before, I headed back down on Saturday morning to shop! I headed straight for the "tools" table and found a bin full of knitting needles. I picked out several pairs and continued to shop. I really, really wanted to find some old style aluminum needles so I'm pleased with what I found. Did anyone else find anything cool at the sale?
If you ever have a chance to visit the Textile Center of MN, they sell some really unique things in the store. I may have to do more gift shopping there.

MOOoooo

My MOO cards arrived today! Yea! I can't even decide which one is my favorite. And I suppose I should have taken a pic of the back of one but I was too hyper to get a photo of the fronts. So. Fun.

If you have MOO cards too, then you need one of these for sure!!!

Dear Emma

Emma, I can't email you to get your info to send you your prize because Blogger doesn't give me that information. There is a button on my sidebar that says "Email me". Drop me a note and we'll go from there! Thanks :-)

Dye Job

Just like last year, I used my leftover egg dye for dying sock yarn! If you want to see more photos of the results click here. I really really like the colors I get with the egg dye but I'm super bummed out because I can't find any dye left over in the stores!

Gourmet M & M's Part II

I tried a second bag of fancy special edition M & M's this week, the creme d'orange. I've come to a general conclusion about all the special edition flavors. They are all good in small doses, a bit too rich otherwise. You don't get the "I'll have a hand full" satisfaction that you get with plain or peanut. I liked the creme d'orange because they were plump with white chocolate and the orange flavor was just enough. Again, small doses. You can't beat the colors of those puppies either.

Casey Has Something to Tell You...

The random number generator chose #20 as the winner! And the twentieth email that came through was Lori of Why Not Knit?. Congratulations Lori! Email me with your address and I'll get a prize to you! And Emma of Stitch 'n Sue, since you were the closest guess to the actual knitting time of 2:07:43 with a guess of 2:03 you get a prize too!!
Thank you to everyone who played along. There were guesses all the way from 20 minutes (Susan of Zen Knit) to 4 hours and 25 minutes (KnitPastis) and everything in between! I loved reading all the guesses and it was fun learning who's out there reading my blog. Thank you all for coming by...I hope I can give you enough interesting material so you can stick around for a while!
Congrats to the winners!!!!

Blanket Made With Love

Since Casey loves to be covered up and I found this super cool fabric while shopping with Splatgirl (check out what she did with it), I decided to whip up a blanket for my special boy. I basically sandwiched the cotton & polar fleece together, topstitched it and tied with some embroidery thread to hold the layers together. Super easy and super useful. Yee haw.

Batter Up

Splatgirl and I met up yesterday for a little lunch and shopping, which included about a half hour at the cutting table in the fabric store. I absolutley had to have this baseball fabric to make myself a pillowcase to celebrate the start of the baseball season. Here is the finished product posing with my mini Torii Hunter bobblehead and a baseball which I caught at a Saints game a few years back. Go Twins!!
I'll have more sewing to share later on in the week...
Meanwhile, do I only have 12 readers of this blog??? That's all the guesses I have so far in the contest. I want everyone who reads to guess, c'mon it's easy and you could win stuff.

I am a Target Diva

This afternoon while gathering some essentials at my local Target store I happened upon some neato flavored M & M's. I should have gotten all the flavors but I setteled on Cherry Almondine. The bag is already gone, every last M & M.
This product must be uber new because there isn't even mention of it on their website.
The other flavors that I remember are: Mint, Cherry Cordial, Orange Creme and Cappucino. These may not be exactly what the others are called but they're pretty close, there may have been a few others too.
If any of you try them let me know waht you think!

Guess What?

Since I passed my 2 year blog anniversary with nary a mention, I thought I'd have a contest at the 2 1/2 year mark! So here we go...
Guess how long it took me to knit this bright & spring-like warshrag from cast-on to weaving in the ends and I'll send you some yarn to make your own plus some other goodies of course! OK, for those of you who don't knit there is something in it for you too so everyone should take a guess...no excuses!
For those of you who are familiar with this pattern, found in Mason-Dixon Knitting, I scaled it down a bit by casting on 39 and knitting only about 5 pattern repeats (10 bands).
So make your guesses by Tuesday April 10th at 6pm CST and I'll pick a winner via random number generator. I have the time down to the second so have fun guessing!
Good Luck!!!

Casey in a Book

This past Thursday I took a scrapbook class at a local store, Archiver's. The theme of the class was either to make a cat or a dog album and of course I chose the dog album. The scrapbook has 20 pages but I've only managed to fill a few with photos. I'd like to dig some puppy pictures out of my photos so the album has a variety of Casey pics.
My creation
If you ever have a chance to take a class with Archiver's, I highly recommend it.
